Timothy West - a dedication

                                                                 

 

Our  performances of HMS Pinafore are lovingly dedicated to the memory of Timothy West, the distinguished actor, director and lifelong servant of the theatre. Passionate about Gilbert & Sullivan, in 2004 he toured Australia with the Carl Rosa Opera Company directing HMS Pinafore and singing the role of Sir Joseph Porter.

We are especially honoured to remember him here, as the late ‘da’ of Samuel West, our valued Honorary Patron, whose own devotion to the theatre continues this remarkable legacy. In Sam’s own words “he had a very good death – no retakes and with impeccable timing as ever, just at the half hour call. No more visitors, deep breath in the wings, and on”.
